Damascus, SANA- Friends of the late Syrian novelist, Khaled Khalifa, announced for launching a literary prize carries his name, and its first session will be dedicated to Syrian writers and authors.
Khaled Khalifa is considered one of the most prominent Arab novelists who inspired and dedicated the values of confronting injustice.
This award, for which applications close on March 15, is intended to honor this novelist and celebrate his memory, and aimed at novelists publishing their first novel, and seeks to honor and support novelists who embody the spirit of innovation, freedom of expression, and cultural depth, reflecting the ethical and intellectual values that Khalid Khalifa championed throughout his career.”
It is noteworthy that Khaled Khalifa is a Syrian novelist with seven novels and a collection of screenplays in addition to other works, he stressed his support for the Syrian revolution since its beginning, so his books and works were banned in Syria, he died in October 2023 in a heart attack.
