Damascus, SANA-Acting Deputy of the Ministry of Health Dr. Hussein al-Khatib discussed with Director of the Children’s Fund (UNICEF) office in Syria, Yasumasa Kimura, ways to boost joint health cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the coordination mechanism to improve the quality of services provided to the Syrian people, work to reduce needs, and sign agreements related to securing vaccines.
Dr. al-Khatib said that all available capabilities are being worked on to improve the health situation in coordination with international institutions and organizations operating in Syria, stressing the ministry’s desire to continue cooperation with UNICEF.
For his part, Kimura explained the importance of providing the organization with a list of Syrian medical centers that need restoration to help rehabilitate and activate them, in parallel with continuing the vaccine purchase agreement.
