PM inaugurates a Mall, lays cornerstone of a hospital in Damascus Countryside

Damascus Countryside, SANA- Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, and  marking the 45th anniversary of the Correctionist Movement, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi laid the cornerstone for the project of Jaramana governmental hospital with a  cost estimated at SYP 7 billion, and he inaugurated Jaramana Mall with a total value of SYP 52 million.

Premier al-Halaqi, inaugurating the Mall, stressed that the positive intervention institutions are considered a very important means for putting an end to the greed of some traders and for curbing the increase in the prices, in addition to providing a variety of goods with suitable prices to meet the needs of the citizens in the area as the prices are from 25 to 35 percent lower than the prices at the local markets.

The Mall expands over an area of 1,400 square meters, and provides food materials and all types of readymade clothes, in addition to carpets and the products of the public industrial sector along with a pavilion for selling fruits, vegetables, and meats and it is equipped with a network of managing and storing the data of the selling process,in addition to air conditioners.

Al-Halaqi affirmed the Government’s keenness on opening new selling galleries of the positive intervention institutions in all areas and provinces to contribute to alleviating the repercussions of the unjust economic siege imposed on the Syrian people.

Al-Halaqi, laying the cornerstone of Jaramana Hospital, said that achieving health and medical security is a strategic choice which the Government is trying to translate on the ground through rehabilitating the hospitals and the health centers which have been destroyed at the hands of the armed terrorist groups.

He added that the Government also works on expanding the establishment of new hospitals across the country, in addition to supporting the medical industries.

He asserted that laying the cornerstone of Jaramana Hospital proves that the health sector has started to recover similar to the other agricultural, industrial and developmental sectors in Syria, and that the Syrian people are fighting terrorism and at the same time they are building their homeland.

The project of the hospital expands over an area of 5,700 square meters and it accommodates for 100 beds, in addition to surgery rooms, outpatient clinics, emergency department and a pharmacy, and it will be supplied with modern medical equipment.
