Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous cast his vote in the elections for the members of the People’s Assembly for the 4th legislative term, at the joint electoral center at the Cabinet and the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry.
Arnous stressed in a statement to journalists that the Syrian state always respects the constitution and constitutional entitlements, noting that all entitlements were held on time under the most difficult circumstances and more difficult than these times from the 1st term in 2012 to the 2nd and 3rd terms and up to the 4th term, and all these entitlements were held on time, whether for the People’s Assembly or the local administration and the presidential elections.
Arnous stressed that the People’s Assembly elections are an important constitutional entitlement and Syria has completed all constitutional entitlements on time to enable all segments of society to select their representatives.
We are in a new stage looking forward to building modern Syria and we wish the elected council success and that it will be able to carry out all the tasks assigned to it in the next stage, which is the reconstruction stage, Arnous said.
In turn, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad said we are entering a new stage in the history of Syria, which represents a continuation of the achievements achieved under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad and the People’s Assembly elections are genuine expression of the Syrian people’s faith in democracy.
Mikdad pointed out the importance of the Council’s role, as its members represent all segments of society and express their aspirations and directions.
