Syrian expatriates celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families after years of a long-distance

Damascus, SANA- Many Syrian who are abroad, are eager to return to their homeland with coming of Eid al-Fitr, after the overthrow of former regime and after they have suffered displacement and years of a long-distance, as Airport halls were filled with arrivals and those carrying bouquets of flowers, waiting to meet their families, to complete the Eid joy which had been incomplete due to their long absence.

Sixty-year-old woman, Fairouz Hawasli, who was waiting for her granddaughter at Damascus International Airport, told SANA that Eid is an opportunity for Syrians to meet their families, and that this Eid will be special for her since she will spend it with her granddaughter who left the country as an infant, and now is returning to share joy of victory after years of a long-distance.

The 45-years old, Mahmoud al-Muhammad noted that this is the first Eid after liberation and victory and that he was certain of meeting his family after he traveled, fleeing from injustice and tyranny that lasted for nearly half a century, stressing Syria will remain the warm and inclusive embrace for all its people.

As for Mrs. Suad al-Zoubi (56 years old), she said that from the first moment her children left the country, she was certain that they would return victorious and dreaming of a more beautiful country.

Invitations to return to the homeland and contribute to its construction were the most circulated among the Syrian expatriates at the airports, who lived the experience of displacement, the joy of meeting and the dream of liberation, after lean years, affirming that the future is in the hands of the sons of the homeland, united and gathered in the spirit of love and goodness.
