Damascus, SANA- In the presence of Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, a workshop on the report on environmental status in Syria was launched on Wednesday, in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAQ).
In his speech during the workshop, Engineer Arnous stressed that the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria led to an increase in environmental problems in all its components and hindered recovery in various fields.
Eng. Arnous added: “We must work on research and innovation to confront the environmental challenges facing Syria in particular and follow sound practices for optimal investment of natural resources and ensuring their sustainability.”
