Idleb, SANA- Minister of Education Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Turko inspected during his first visit to Idleb province on Thursday a number of destroyed schools southern Idleb countryside and the extent of their damage as a result of the defunct regime’s bombing.
He affirmed the need to begin the implementation of the reconstruction plan in these schools to facilitate the return of students and their families to their abandoned schools and areas.
The Minister was accompanied on his tour by Idleb Governor Mohammed Abdul Rahman, Director of Planning and International Cooperation Mr.Youssef Annan, Secretary of the National Commission for Science and Culture Abdul Karim Al-Qadri, and a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
He briefed on the educational situation there and met with the educational cadres there to discuss the progress of the educational process and study plans, and the obstacles and challenges they face.
The Minister said that the return of students to their villages was the Ministry’s top priority, and that it is striving to have them in their village schools after their rehabilitation as soon as possible, stressing that this step comes within the framework of concerted government action to serve these areas and rehabilitate them to receive their residents.
