Hama, SANA – Hama Governor Ghassan Khalaf discussed with the Resident Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Syria Elizabeth Hoff and the accompanying delegation cooperation in the health sector and boosting the organization’ support for medical programs and services.
Khalaf indicated an increased pressure on public hospitals in Hama after some hospitals have gone out of service due to the terrorist attacks, calling for rectifying shortage in spare parts for many medical equipment and ambulances.
Hama National Hospital is in urgent need of some medical requirements such as x-ray apparatuses and some necessary medicines and medical supplies, Khalaf added.
In turn, Hoff hailed the efforts exerted by the governmental parties in providing and managing health services and their cooperation with the WHO in implementing health programs.
She noted that the WHO is continuing cooperation and coordination with other international health aid providers to better support Hama’s health department and meets its locals’ needs.
