Aleppo, SANA- Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Relief, Hussein Makhlouf, discussed with members of the relief sub-committee and the operations room in Aleppo governorate, the procedures taken to ensure shelters for those affected by the earthquake catastrophe and ways to secure qualified and temporary shelter centers with all basic needs and services.
Makhlouf pointed out to the mechanisms of organizing the relief and humanitarian work, necessity of continuing work and cooperation and partnership among all governmental and civil society institutions, and the economic activities to assist the earthquake-afflicted people.
Aleppo Governor, Hussein Diab, in turn, pointed out the importance of the adopted procedures in the operations room since the earthquake took place, and the daily coordination to develop plans and programs related to relief work and to securing appropriate shelters according to interim, medium and long-term plans.
The Director of Education in Aleppo, Eng. Mustafa Abdel-Ghani, said that 121 schools have been opened as shelter centers, asserting that the damaged schools in the city and the countryside have amounted to 70 percent.
