Terrorist attempt to blow up gas factories in Homs thwarted, eight killed in the attack

Homs, SANA – Guards of two gas factories in Froqlos area in Homs caught the two terrorists who attacked “Ebla” and “Southern of the Central Area” gas factories in the countryside of Homs province using a car bomb.

Earlier, a source at the Petroleum Ministry said that the terrorists blew up a pickup truck loaded with 2.5 tons of explosives in front of the entrance to the factories on Monday at dawn, resulting in casualties and slight material damage.

The source added that no damage was inflicted upon the infrastructure of the two factories, which are still operating normally.

A military source told SANA that the factories’ guards arrested the two terrorists who detonated the car bomb, Abdelkarim Farhan al-Khellawi and Farhan Hamid al-Hajjaj, while they were fleeing the scene.

SANA’s correspondent in Homs said the terrorist attack claimed 8 lives and injured others who were rushed to hospitals for treatment.
