Tartous, SANA – The 1st Dilettantes Theater Festival wrapped up activities in Tartous the coastal province with the aim of embracing gifted people who could take part in reviving the brightness of drama .
The seven-day Festival, which started on December 17th , included seven theatrical shows which touched upon various issues, mainly the crisis in Syria and its social consequences such as the phenomenon of extremism, the life at the makeshift centers and other social issues.
The Festival’s additional value lies in ensuring a platform for the amateur youths for staging their works, according to the Director of “Love and War”, Radwan Jamous.
Jamous told SANA that the Festival enriches the experiences of the amateur theatrical teams and sheds the light on the situation of the theatrical youth movement in Syria.
He stressed the necessity to make the festival an annual event, calling on the Ministry of Culture to continue sponsoring it.
Meanwhile, director of ” Mawawil Sharqia” Hashem Ghazal saw that holding the festival during the time of war is a message for all those who try to mislead the world saying that Syria is unable to rebirth all over again.
Director of “They are Killing the Human being” Majed Mughamis hailed the audience’s insistence to attend all the shows .
Actor Ali Suleiman stressed that the festival constitutes an important moral support to the youth through highlighting their talents and giving them various promising opportunities.
Suleiman asserted that the festival is a step towards activating the cultural situation in the province .
“The festival is a message that war is unable to cancel the culture of life in Syria” actress Yara said, wishing that the team would be able to efficiently convey the truth of what is going on in Syria.
