Thursday weather forecast: Temperatures below average, snow expected over mountains

Damascus, SANA – The temperatures will remain 6 to 8 degrees below average as the country is affected by superficial low air pressure accompanied by southwestern cold and wet air currents in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

The Meteorology Department expected in its Thursday bulletin that the weather will be cloudy to rainy in different areas, noting that heavy rains will fall over the coastal, northern and central areas and snow will fall over the mountains whose height is above 1000 meters.

The winds will be southeasterly of low to medium speed and the sea waves will be medium in height.

Different amounts of rainfalls were registered in Syrian provinces over the past 24 hours as follows: in Tartous 49,2 mm, in Homs 29 mm, in Hama 44,8 mm, in Lattakia 32 mm, in Aleppo 24,5 mm and in Damascus 3 mm.

The expected temperatures in some of the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 6/1, Daraa 9/3, Homs 6/1, Lattakia 8/6, Aleppo 4/-2 and Deir Ezzor 11/3.
