Moscow, SANA – A photo exhibition by the Syrian artist and photographer Hagop Wanisian was opened Wednesday at the Moscow State Museum of the East, in cooperation with the Syrian Embassy in Moscow and the presence of Arab and foreign diplomats, Russian officials and visitors.
The photos depicted the destruction, devastation and terrorism which hit Aleppo city and the suffering of Aleppo people for more than five years due to the terrorists’ violent and brutal practices.
In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow, Wanisian said that he wanted to document the terrorist crimes committed against the innocent people in Syria, particularly in Aleppo city, regretting the western mass media’s attitude towards the events in his country.
The Syrian Ambassador in Moscow, Riyad Haddad said that the exhibited items reflect the pains of the Syrian people, calling upon the countries of the world to be unified and cooperate to struggle the international terrorism and its sponsors.
He hailed the steadfastness of the Syrian army, people and leadership, expressing confidence in achieving victory.
Director of the Museum of the East, Alexander Sedov, said that Wanisian’s participation in international photo exhibitions helped illustrate the reality of the inhumane crimes committed by terrorists in Syria in general and Aleppo in particular; expressing hope that Syria would restore security, stability and peace as soon as possible.
Other Russian officials stressed their country’s solidarity and support to the Syrian people in the war on terrorism.
