Results of 2nd session of Secondary School certificate final exams released

Damascus, SANA – Results of the second and final session of the Baccalaureate (secondary school) final examinations 2016 were announced on Sunday by the Education Ministry.

The results, which included the scientific, literary, Sharia (Islamic Education) and vocational branches, were published on the Ministry’s website.

66316 students took the final exams of the scientific branch of Baccalaureate (12th grade) certificate, with 50020 passing at a percentage of 75.43 %.

In the literary branch, 20724 students passed out of 32516 who took the exams with a percentage 63.73 %.

Students who took exams in the second session are either those who failed in no more than three subjects in the first session or those who wanted to improve their grades in three subjects maximum.

On a relevant note, Education Minister Hazwan al-Waz said the Ministry is working together with the reconstruction committee to repair and restore a number of damaged schools.

Rehabilitation works in the cities of Tadmur (Palmyra) al-Qaryatain in Homs are going on to facilitate the return of families to their areas, al-Waz added, noting that 800 slightly damaged schools are being fixed.
