Lattakia, SANA – The Russian Coordination Center observed three new breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement by terrorist groups in the countryside of Damascus on Monday.
The Russian center, based in Hmeimim airbase, said in a statement on Tuesday that terrorists of the so-called “Jaish al-Islam” targeted Syrian army positions with mortar rounds in different areas in Damascus countryside.
Terrorist groups affiliated to Jaish al-Islam backed by Saudi Wahhabi regime are positioned in several areas of Damascus countryside, particularly in Eastern Ghouta.
The cessation of hostilities agreement, which came into effect on 27th February, 2016, does not cover ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council resolution 2268.
The total number of towns joining the agreement rose to 165, following the announcement of agreement in a town in Homs province, the center said in its statement.
The statement quoted locals as saying that additional militants, with their heavy weapons, arrived from Turkey to join the internationally-designated terrorist organization of Jabhat al-Nusra.
