Economy Minister, South African Ambassador discuss cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Humam al-Jazaeri discussed with Ambassador of South Africa in Damascus Shaun Byneveldt issues related to economic and development cooperation between the two countries which were agreed upon during the visit of Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa Nomaindia Mfeketo to Damascus in May.

The two sides agreed to cooperate in the field of investment for the production of alternative energies, particularly solar energy, and to benefit from the technical and technological expertise of South African companies in this field, in addition to discussing direct investments or joint ones with friendly countries such as India.

They also agreed to establish a development program funded by South Africa with the Agency for Supporting Local Production and Exports for the development of rural and productive capabilities with the participation of experts from South Africa, as well as cooperation for the development of alternative models for the implementation of real estate development and reconstruction projects, including local financing models.
