Hama, SANA – A national meeting was held in Tal Sayyah village in al-Ghab area in Hama province where the participant popular and social figures affirmed their support for the Syrian Arab Army in its struggle to defend the sovereignty of the homeland and maintain the national principles.
The participants called for expanding local reconciliations as they help in accelerating the defeat of Takfiri terrorism.
Hama Governor Ghassan Khalaf pointed out that the meeting, which brought together Muslim and Christian scholars, civil, popular, official and economic figures, is a message to the world that the Syrian people are unified in the face of terrorism.
A local reconciliation agreement was reached during a meeting on March 7th that brought together senior tribes figures, Muslim and Christian scholars and local figures.
The agreement included Souran area, Qalaat al-Mdeiq (Citadel) town and over 100 villages and farms in al-Hamraa area in the northeastern countryside of Hama. Its first stage came into effect in March 15 where tens of locals started returning to their homes in al-Fan al-Shamali village.
The following stages have seen hundreds of displaced people returning to their homes in other villages.
