Russian President discusses with Russian Security Council implementing cessation of hostilities in Syria

Moscow, SANA-Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed on Wednesday with permanent members of the Russian Security Council the issues related to implementing the Russian-US agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Syria.

RT website quoted the Russian president’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying that the agenda of the meeting included the issues related to the implementation of the joint Russian-US agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Syria.

During the meeting, they exchanged views about the phone calls which President Putin held with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Saudi King Salman Bin Abad al-Aziz.

Earlier on Wednesday, President Bashar al-Assad received a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin, discussing with him the crisis in Syria in light of implementing the cessation of hostilities, with both sides affirming the importance of going ahead with combating the terrorist organizations of “Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations.
