Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet discussed in its weekly session on Tuesday a number of issues including the preparations for People’s Assembly elections which are due to be held in April, delivering relief aid to areas besieged by terrorists, and providing drinking water for areas where there are water shortages.

Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi stressed that the government is committed to ensuring the success, integrity, and transparency of the upcoming elections, which he said will reflect the steadfastness of the Syrian people and the strength of the state’s establishments, with the Premier calling on the relevant ministries to provide all the logistical support needed for the elections.

Al-Halaqi said the Electricity Ministry is working to rehabilitate the thermal station in Aleppo countryside so that it can be back online soon, and that the Petroleum Ministry is working to repair the Arab gas line.
