President Bashar al-Assad issues a law to establish a University for Christian Theology, Religious and Philosophical Studies

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad issued Wednesday Law No. 34 that stipulated establishing a private university for Christian Theology, Religious and Philosophical Studies.

According to the law, the university includes Christian Theology College, Philosophical Studies College, Comparative Religion, Religious Studies and History of Religions College, in addition to Ancient Languages Institute.

The university also seeks to be a progressive intellectual center that aims to help qualify the researchers in theology to be influential in their society, in addition to creating a scientific intellectual dialogue based on analysis, synthesis, and the ability to debate for the purpose of education and deepening respect for others beliefs.
