Syria will participate in 18th regional finals of Collegiate Programming Contest with 13 teams

Lattakia, SANA – 13 teams from the Syrian universities will take part in the 18th regional finals of the Collegiate Programming Contest to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt on November 20-24.

Jaafar al-Khayer, the Executive Director of Syria’s Collegiate Programming Contest who will be part of Egypt event through arbitrating and organizing, said in a statement to SANA reporter on Sunday that the 13 Syrian teams were selected upon the results of the 5th national finals of the Collegiate Programming Contest that was held late September and early October at Tishreen University.

The first time the Contest was held in Syria was in 2011.

Syria participated in the 17th regional finals with nine teams from five universities where the team of the Arab Academy for Science and Technology won the first place and the team of Tishreen University won the 12th place, whereas Qatar prevented those nine teams from participating in the Olympiad as it denied them entry tickets.
