Damascus, SANA- The Higher Relief Committee received on Monday a humanitarian aid shipment provided by Pakistan, which included 60 tons of blankets for those arriving from Lebanon to Syria escaping the Israeli aggression on the neighboring country.
“This shipment is part of aid provided by the Pakistani government which began last month, and includes 60 tons of blankets to help those arriving from Lebanon during winter” ، Pakistani Ambassador in Damascus, Shahid Akhtar said in a statement to SANA reporter, noting that other aid shipments will arrive successively.
Ambassador Akhtar added that the Pakistani government and people are well aware of the suffering and condition that the region is going through in light of the Israeli attacks, appreciating the role of the Syrian government in providing aid and assistance to those arriving from Lebanon, and stressing his country’s willingness to be a partner in this field.
In a similar statement, Bassam Saadi, Relief Director in Damascus Countryside Governorate, appreciated the aid provided by Pakistan, which contributes to supporting and assisting those arriving from Lebanon following the Israeli aggression, indicating that the aid will be distributed to the arrivals through the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
