Minister Haidar discusses with Parliament’s Reconciliation Committee files of the missing and abductees

Damascus, SANA- Members of the People’s Assembly’s National Reconciliation Committee underlined the need to prepare a new strategy and vision for the national reconciliation project in Syria in a way that differs from the one that was adopted during the past years.

This came during a meeting between the Committee members and Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs Dr. Ali Haidar.

The talks during the meeting focused on the files of the missing and the abducted persons as well as cooperation and coordination between the Commission and the Ministry to expand the scope of reconciliations and promote them across the country.

The members hailed the role of the Syrian Army in eliminating terrorist organizations and restoring security and stability to large swathes of the country, demanding that efforts be intensified to expose persons who are involved in kidnappings and brokering.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Minister Haidar stressed that the national reconciliation project is a national one that has won the confidence of all Syrians.

In turn, Head of the National Reconciliation Committee at the People’s Assembly Omar Osi said today’s meeting was aimed at increasing coordination between the Ministry and the Commission and working to form a national authority on the level of the Syrian state to consolidate the reconciliation project.
