Damascus, SANA_ Power supply returned to southern provinces of Daraa and Sweida after two days of a sabotage terrorist attack against gas pipelines in the southern region, a source at the Electricity Ministry said.
Earlier, Monday night terrorists launched an attack on gas pipelines supplying power generating stations in the southern area, causing their break down, Minister of Electricity Imad Khamis said, indicating that the problems would be fixed as soon as possible.
The source told SANA Wednesday night that maintenance teams worked hard since Tuesday morning and rehabilitated the gas pipeline, high voltage towers and power supply transmission lines which were damaged by the terrorist attack.
Power section has been targeted by terrorists since the beginning of the crisis and its losses till end of 2014 were estimated by SYP 400 billion while 170 employees lost their lives while doing their jobs in maintenance.
