Damascus, SANA – The People’s Assembly on Wednesday discussed the performance of the Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Ministry and its efforts to provide essential goods and monitor markets and prices.
The Assembly members called for taking measures against those who manipulate the prices of essential goods and those who corner petroleum products, as well as monitor public transportation fees and the prices of food items.
They also called for reviewing the Central Bank’s intervention policies for preserving the Syrian Pound exchange rate, suggesting that selling USD for import purposes be carried out exclusively by state banks.
