Hymns and prayers for peace at St. George of al-Humaira Monastery in Homs

Homs, SANA – On occasion of Christmas, the St. George of al-Humaira Monastery, located in Wadi al-Nadara area in Homs province, held an event in which Syriac and Christmas hymns were performed and prayers for peace in Syria were held.

The hymns were performed by the choir and children’s choir of the Monastery and singer Linda Bitar.

The event was attended by locals and people from neighboring villagers, along with Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi, who said that Christmas is a time of joy and peace, and that Syria will remain the home of tolerance and that its enemies will never triumph over its people.

The Monastery’s abbot, Archimandrite Damaskinos al-Kaadeh, said that this event seeks to emphasize that Syria is doing well and to pray for security and stability to prevail across the country.

An exhibition featuring Christmas-themed works by children and handicrafts was also held at the Monastery.
