Damascus, SANA- Director of the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) Ali Mustafa said armed terrorist organizations prevented on Thursday aid convoys from reaching civilians trapped inside Yarmouk Camp in Damascus.
Mustafa said in a statement to SANA that terrorists had launched mortar shells and their snipers opened fire at the point where humanitarian aid was distributed in the Camp in an attempt to scare civilians away, preventing them from reaching the area.
The terrorists’ fire forced convoys, doctors, nurses at the medical point and the Palestine Red Crescent personnel to leave the area, he added, vowing that GAPAR and UNRWA will complete delivering aid on Friday.
A total of 55974 food baskets and 11584 health baskets were distributed by the GAPAR and UNRWA, in cooperation with Syrian government, at Yarmouk Camp since the 30th of January until 6th of December.
