Damascus, SANA The Meteorology Department said Wednesday skies will be clear to partially cloudy today. Local rain showers will be witnessed over the northwestern and coastal areas and in al-Jazira.
The Department added that temperatures will be around average or slightly lower than average as the country is affected with an area of high pressure accompanied with southern-western streams in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
Temperatures will increase on Thursday to be slightly higher than average, and skies will continue to be clear and partially cloudy. Fog is expected over the internal areas in the early morning hours.
According to the bulletin of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, the greatest amount of rain during the last 24 hours till 00:07 in the morning reached 43mm in al-Mzeiraa in Lattakia, 40mm in Hammam Wasel in Tartous, 39mm in Shat’ha in Hama and 38mm in Efrin in Aleppo.
The rain bulletin also pointed out the rainfall amounts reached 5.6mm in Mezzeh in Damascus, 2.2mm in the area around Damascus International
Airport in Damascus Countryside, 9.5 in Sweida city, 6.3mm in Daraa city , 4mm in Homs city in Homs, 16.3mm in Hasaka city and 5mm in Deir Ezzor city.
