Damascus, SANA_ “Made in Syria” exhibition for clothing, textiles and production supplies for the spring and summer of 2019 kicked off Thursday with the participation of 300 companies and the presence of about 800 businessmen from 18 Arab and friendly countries.
The exhibition is organized by the Syrian Exporters Association, the chambers of industry and trade in cooperation with the Syrian Exporters Association for clothing and textile.
The head of the Exporters’ Union Mohammad Al-Sawah said that the exhibition shows the recovery of the textile sector through the number and quality of participating companies, indicating to the large participation of production and fabric supplies for the first time which proves the ability of the Syrian textile to produce goods of high quality covering the local and export markets and to regain its position as a competitive product .
In turn, the head of Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry Fares Al-Shehabi pointed out that the large number of participating companies from Aleppo indicates the return of the wheel of production to work despite the difficult conditions that the city suffered because of terrorism.
He stressed that the garment industry is a basic industry and needs further support to be able to compete and to gradually return better than before the crisis.
The exhibition will last until February 17th .
