Baghdad, SANA – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi discussed on Wednesday with Syria’s Ambassador in Iraq Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah the situation in the region and enhancing bilateral relations.
According to a statement released by the media office of the Iraqi Prime Ministry, al-Abadi said the continuing flow of terrorists from other countries resulted in ISIS gaining control over a number of areas, affirming that the Iraqis are committed to defending their country and confronting terrorist organizations.
In turn, Ambassador al-Dandah said terrorism in Syria and Iraq is financed and controlled by the same side and has the same goals and mentality.
Al-Dandah also conveyed a congratulatory message from Premier al-Halaqi on the forming the new government in Iraq.
