Shoigu: Russia completed delivery of S-300 air defense systems to Syria

Moscow, SANA – Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stressed that the Russian side has completed the delivery of S-300 air defense missile systems to Syria.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists that Shoigu informed President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with members of Russia’s Security Council to discuss the situation in Syria on Tuesday that the delivery of air defense systems to Syria has been completed.

Shoigu said that Russia has completed the delivery of S-300 systems and other military equipment to Syria, adding that the move came as part of its response to the downing of  Russian Il-20 plane with 15 airmen on board in Lattakia.
