Participants in OANA Executive Board Meeting agree on forming technical and experts committees

Tehran, SANA- Participants in activities of the 34rd Executive Board Meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), which concluded activities in Tehran on Monday, agreed on forming technical committees and a committee of experts.

The committees will conduct an extensive study on topics proposed during the meeting, particularly the establishment of a permanent general secretariat and a virtual training center and holding a photography competition.

OANA President Aslan Aslanov called upon the agencies which are members of the organization to effectively contribute to supplying OANA website with news reported by national news agencies to become a distinguished media forum for all members.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Director-General Seyyed Zia Hashemi expressed comfort over the outcomes of the meeting and dialogues among OANA members, affirming that the meeting was useful and constructive.

Earlier in the morning, the 34rd Executive Board Meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) started activities with the participation of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) represented by it Director-General Abdul-Rahim Ahmad.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Ahmad visited the headquarters of Iran Press Institution and he inspected the reality and mechanisms of work at the institution.
