Russia expresses concern over delay of final report on Douma city

Moscow, SANA- Russia expressed concern over the delay in publishing the final report of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on what took place in Douma city in Damascus Countryside.

Last April, Russian military experts stressed that the investigations which they conducted in Douma city in Damascus countryside found that there are no traces of the use of chemical weapons there.

Russia’s Representative to the OPCW Alexander Shulgin said in an interview with TASS Agency that “The OPCW technical secretariat issued an interim report, but the final report has not appeared yet, and we want to remind of the necessity of completing this work.”

He indicated that most of the data collected by the experts of the organization in Douma are not used in preparing the report.

He asserted that delaying the issuance of the final report by the technical secretariat doesn’t contribute to improving the general situation in Syria, warning at the same time of that the Western states are exploiting that in their hysterical campaign against Syria and Russia.
