Syrian Olympic football team looks forward to win over Australia in 2018 AFC U-23 Championship

Beijing, SANA – The Syrian Olympic football team will play with its Australian counterpart in its opening matches of the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship. The match will be held next Thursday at 10:00 am.

In a statement to SANA Sports Bulletin, footballer Jihad Bismar stressed the team’s determination to do its best and give an outstanding performance, noting that the match with the Australian football team will help them qualify for the next round.

He underlined the efforts exerted by the coach, Hussein Afesh, and the technical cadre to maintain the footballers’ high level of physical fitness and readiness through intensive drills for tactics and formations, in addition to organizing lectures on other teams, their strengths and weaknesses.

The Syrian Olympic football team will play within Group 4 of the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship, which includes South Korea, Australia and Vietnam. The matches will be held in Kunshan city. Syria will play with South Korea  and Vietnam on January 14th and 17th, respectively.
