Syrian athlete Alaa al-Krad wins title the best wrestler in German Budesliga

Damascus, SANA – Having strong will and determination to counter challenges and difficult circumstances and leave a mark wherever they go and in whatever they do, Syrian athletes continue to gain international fame and maintain the good reputation of their country through their remarkable achievements.

Born in 2001, the talented Syrian freestyle wrestler Alaa Fadi al-Krad was able to win over his German competitors during youth wrestling tournaments in less than two years and captured the title of the best wrestler in the German Budesliga.

In a statement to SANA Sports bulletin, the Coach, Raja al-Krad, said that Alaa deserves the title after winning in more than 35 matches (61-kilogram weight class) in the German Budesliga, adding that his high-skilled performance and technical abilities drew the attention of German sports newspapers.

He added that the beginning of Alaa al-Krad dates back to 2014 where he played for al-Sa’aleh club and won the title of national championship despite his young age.
