Russian long-range bombers destroy arms depots for ISIS in Deir Ezzor

Moscow, SANA – The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that Russian long-range bombers shelled plants producing explosives and arms depots for ISIS terrorist organization in Deir Ezzor.

The Ministry said in a statement that six long-range Tu-22M3 bombers that took off from a Russian airfield and flew over Iraq and Iran carried out airstrikes on plants producing ammunition and explosives for ISIS near Tal al-Salhiya and arms and ammunition depots and gathering sites of military vehicles for the terrorist organization in Deir Ezzor.

Su-30SM and Su-35S provided air cover to the Russian bombers from the Hmeimim airbase, the ministry said, adding that the Russian aircrafts returned to Russia after successfully completing their combat mission in Syria.
