Damascus, SANA – Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hadiyeh Abbas affirmed during a meeting on Tuesday with a Czech parliamentary delegation headed by Zuzka Bebarova Rujbrova the necessity of enhancing relations between Syria and the Czech Republic in all sectors, particularly the parliamentary ones.
Abbas pointed out that the visit of the Czech delegation to Syria is an important initiative that will contribute to developing bilateral relations and pushing them forward.
She added that such visits by delegations of friendly countries help in exposing the nature of the terrorist war waged against Syria and the support provided to the terrorists by Arab and regional countries.
Abbas highlighted the important role played by the Czech, particularly its parliament, in supporting the Syrian people during the crisis and continuing aid delivery to displaced and other terrorism-affected families.
In turn, Rujbrova expressed her confidence that Syria is able to restore security and stability to its entire territory and start reconstruction to secure the return of displaced families to their homes, affirming the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of combating terrorism.
She pointed out that her country will continue to send humanitarian aid to the Syrians and is ready to take a part in the reconstruction phase.
For his part, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Czech Parliamentary asserted the importance of the delegation’s visit to inspect firsthand the situation on the ground, noting that the Syrian citizens are going about their days normally.
The Czech delegation later visited the makeshift center hosting displaced people in Mashroua Dummar.
