Moscow, SANA – Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed on Saturday with Syrian Ambassador in Moscow, Dr. Riad Haddad, issues related to solving the crisis in Syria.
In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Bogdanov and Haddad exchanged views on the developing situation in Iraq and the Middle East in general, in addition to the efforts exerted by the international community to confront terrorism and extremism.
The statement added that talks between the two sides also dealt with the bilateral Russian-Syrian cooperation.
For his part, Ambassador Haddad stressed that the “sound solutions” are merely Syrian solutions, reminding of President Bashar al-Assad’s speech delivered during the swearing-in ceremony which stressed that the Syria decided from the beginning to eradicate terrorism and conduct local reconciliations.
On August 5, the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Syria, Iraq and Lebanon are facing common danger which is the spread of international terrorism that does not recognize any borders between countries and seeks to control more territories.
