Mass for peace in Syria held in St. Thecla Cathedral in Darayya

Damascus Countryside, SANA – The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate on Friday organized a mass for peace in Syria and the souls of the martyrs at St. Thecla Cathedral in Darayya, Damascus Countryside.

Presiding upon the services, Bishop Luca al-Khouri prayed for peace in Syria, asserting that Syrians support their army and leadership in the fight against terrorism.

Al-Khouri addressed the Europeans, Americans, and all those who sent criminals to wreak havoc in Syria, saying that Christians in Syria don’t need anyone to protection and that they are more than capable of protecting themselves.

In turn, Father Beshara al-Qara from St. Thecla Cathedral said that the prayers being held today in Darayya and the return to the city that suffered at the hands of terrorism proves that Syria’s civilization will never die because Syrians are adherent to life and peace and committed to their land.
