New York, SANA-Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem met on Thursday the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the sidelines of the meetings of the 71st session of UN General Assembly.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the situation in Palestine with President Abbas affirming the Palestinian people’s support to Syria in the fight against terrorism.
Minister al-Moallem also met Czech Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek as discussions tackled the latest developments in Syria.
Al-Moallem said that all people talk about ending the suffering of the Syrian people, but non didn’t deal with the real reasons of this suffering, mainly terrorism and the continued support of known countries to the terrorist organizations and the unilateral, coercive measures taken against the Syrian people.
Both sides referred to the importance of international cooperation in combating terrorism and restoring peace and security to Syria.
Zaorálek affirmed that the target of reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria is the responsibility of all, showing his country’s interest in the reconstruction process in Syria.
In a similar meeting, al-Moallem discussed with Kazakh counterpart Erlan Idrissov the situation in the region and bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue cooperation and coordination in the fight against terrorism.
