Terrorists breach cessation of hostilities agreement 6 times in Damascus and Lattakia

Lattakia, SANA – The Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center monitoring the cessation of hostilities agreement put at 1199 the total number of breaches of the agreement committed by the terrorist groups since the agreement came into force on February 27th.

The Center said in a statement on Sunday that 6 new breaches were observed in the countryside of Damascus and Lattakia.

Those were committed by terrorists of “Jaish al-Islam” who shelled the towns of Douma, Harasta, Hawsh Dawara and Erbin in the countryside of Damascus city, and terrorists of “Ahrar al-Sham” who attacked Hamra town in Lattakia countryside.

Shelling attacks were also carried out by terrorists of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra targeting several areas in the city and countryside of Aleppo and in the countryside of Damascus, Hama and Daraa in their attempts to undermine the cessation of hostilities, according to the Russian center.

It pointed out that five new towns in Lattakia joined the cessation of hostilities agreement in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of Syrian areas committed to the agreement to 602.

The cessation of hostilities agreement is not applicable to ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
