Sit-in staged in solidarity with Palestinian and Syrian captives in Israeli occupation jails

Damascus, SANA – A sit-in was staged in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Damascus to demand action to save the lives of captives in Israeli occupation jails who are on food strike and to end the occupation’s arbitrary practices against the captives.

The participants delivered a message to the deputy head of the ICRC mission in Damascus in which they called for working to release the captives in Israeli occupation jails, including Sedqi al-Maqet.

They also called on the ICRC to do its part in putting a stop to the arbitrary and unjust practices against captives in Israeli occupation jails, stressing that this issue must be given priority before any of the captives who are on food strike pass away, noting that captive Bilal al-Kayed in particular is in a critical condition as he has been on food strike for more than 70 days.
