Homs, SANA – Handicrafts, natural products and woolen textiles for dozens of rural women were showcased in the Agricultural Products and Rural Industries Exhibition held in Brabo village in Homs province.
During the opening ceremony, Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi underlined the importance of supporting agricultural sector, including plant and animal farming, taking into account the government’s directives to establish and encourage small and medium-sized projects due to their role in enhancing national economy.
He noted that training and qualifying farmers, producers and animal breeders in villages came within the framework of Agriculture Directorate’s activities to support enterprises which will have positive impact on the income and economy in general.
Later on, Head of the Western Center Agriculture Department, Mohammed Ghassa, gave a presentation on agricultural mushroom cultivation and benefiting from it to establish low-cost and high-yield enterprises which increase families’ income and provide numerous job opportunities.
