Tehran, SANA – Iranian Supreme Leader’s Top Adviser for International Affairs, Ali Akbar Velayati said that the Iranian-Russian-Turkish talks to solve the crisis in Syria will contribute to enhance the Syrian government’s capabilities to defeat terrorists and prevent the division of the country.
In a press statement following his meeting with the Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende on Wednesday, Velayati stressed that Iran has always viewed the Syrian government as “legal and legitimate” and provided help to it upon the latter’s request to remain steadfast against terrorism.
He highlighted the success of the Syrian government, in cooperation with Russia and the Lebanese Resistance, in defending the Syrian state and people.
Velayati stated that “the view of Westerners, including Norway, regarding Syria has changed” due to the current developments.
Iran’s ties and joint cooperation with Norway and other European countries, as well as various regional issues, particularly the crisis in Syria and the developments in Turkey and Afghanistan, were also on table between Velayati and the Norwegian Foreign Minister.
