Damascus, SANA- Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Ahmad al-Qaderi discussed on Wednesday with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) chairman Abdul Rahman al-Attar mechanisms of future cooperation and ways of supporting rural families in Syria.
During the meeting, al-Qaderi pointed out to the positive role played by the organization during this stage through the support provided to needy rural families by providing them with a fixed source of income.
He asserted the importance of cooperation with international organizations in a way that meets the Syrian people’s interests, expressing full readiness to provide all the required facilities to deliver these grants to the beneficiaries.
For his part, al-Attar clarified that it was agreed to provide support during the coming period to the projects carried out by the organization in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and to provide all the necessary facilities to distribute production grants to 5000 Syrian families.
The grants, according to al-Attar, include amounts of wheat seeds distributed to families in Homs, Hama, Hasaka, Damascus countryside and Quneitra and amounts of chickpea seeds to families in Sweida, in addition to livestock, feed, and fertilizers, along with veterinary services to a number of families in Homs.
