Lavrov calls on Washington to carry out its obligations regarding cessation of hostilities agreement

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called on Washington to carry out its obligations regarding applying the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria and closing Turkish borders with Syria to prevent terrorists from crossing through them.

“Lavrov agreed with US counterpart John Kerry , during a telephone call, to activate work in order to implement decisions of Syria international group and UN Security council resolutions No. 2254 and 2268,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding that the discussions dealt with Russian proposals regarding carrying out joint operations against terrorist organizations and armed groups that didn’t join the cessation of hostilities agreement.”

Lavrov affirmed the need for closing the Turkish borders because through them, the human and financing supplies are brought into the terrorist organizations in Syria.
