Damascus, SANA- Different amounts of rainfalls were registered in the western and inland areas over the past 24 hours, the heaviest of which were registered as follows: 85mm in Brimanet al-Sheikh in Tartous province, and 38 mm in Bishlamou in Lattakia province.
Weather forecaster Nader Hassan told SANA that 2 mm of rain falls have been also registered in Damascus City since the morning while the rains has started to fall in the western and inland areas since Friday and they were heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms.
Hassan added that the effects of the low air pressure will start to recede starting from Sunday afternoon.
The temperatures will remain from 3 to 5 degrees below average as the country is being affected by a low air pressure in all layers of the atmosphere.
The Meteorology Department expected in its Saturday bulletin that the skies will be clear to partly cloudy in general and rain showers accompanied by thunder sometimes are expected in most areas.
The wind will be westerly with a moderate speed and the sea waves will be medium in height.
Tomorrow, the skies will be clear to partly cloudy in general and local rain showers are expected in different areas while the temperatures will gradually rise, yet they will remain from 2 to 3 degrees below average.
The expected temperatures in the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 24/11, Daraa 23/12Homs 27/14, Lattakia 25/19, Aleppo 26/13 and Deir Ezzor 29/15.
