Tourism Minister meets representatives of German tourism companies

Damascus, SANA- Tourism Minister Bisher Yazigi affirmed on Monday that the tourism sector in Syria represents an important aspect of the investment prospects due to its heritage and civilization, adding that the next stage will witness huge demand for investment in Syria.

The minister was speaking during a meeting with a number of representatives of German companies specialized in establishing and managing resorts and tourism facilities who expressed their desire to invest in the field of tourism in Syria with focus on the archaeological sites in Palmyra city.

During the meeting, Yazigi affirmed that Syria is determined to root out terrorism in cooperation with friends and all people who are dedicated to the values of civilization in the world.

He also briefed the representatives on the reality of the tourism destinations in Syria, the increase in internal and religious tourism and the interest in making investments that contribute to providing job opportunities and a refined level of tourist services, adding that hundreds of tourist facilities had been opened and rehabilitated in Syria during the past two years.

In turn, the representatives of the companies pointed out that the world has become aware of the reality of what is happening in Syria and the terrorist war against it.

For his part, Representative of Private Palace Hotels & Resorts Company expressed the company’s desire to launch a number of tourism investments starting from one of the sites in the province of Lattakia, noting that the Syrian government is providing all facilitations for investment in Syria.
