75 companies participate in “Made in Syria” shopping festival

Damascus, SANA – The monthly shopping festival “Made in Syria” began on Friday evening at al-Jala’a Sports Complex in Mezzeh area in Damascus, with considerable local participation by major industrial companies specializing in food, clothes, plastic products, perfumes, and cosmetics.

Minister of Industry Kamal-Eddin Tou’meh underlined the importance of this festival as a means of direct communication between producers and consumers, adding that it conveys a message that the Syrian industry is recovering and the wheel of production has taken off, with factories becoming able to meet the needs of local markets.

For his part, Minister of Administrative Development Hassan al-Nouri said that the festival shows the ability of national factories to continue production with the same high quality and reasonable prices despite the current circumstances in the country.

The minister highlighted the important role of the Damascus and its Countryside Chamber of Industry in supporting and helping industrialists to promote their products through organizing such festivals which encourage direct sales to consumers, not to mention providing opportunities to export their products to foreign markets.

75 local companies are participating in the festival which will last until March 17th.
