SARC in Hasaka receives 7000 food packages from WFP to distribute to displaced families

Hasaka, SANA – The branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in the northeastern Hasaka province has received 7000 food packages provided by the World Food Programme (WFP) to be delivered to displaced families.

Gharbi al-Mardoud, head of the SARC branch, told SANA that the packages will be distributed soon to the displaced families in Hasaka countryside.

During January, 20,000 families benefited from aid distributed in Qamishli, Ras al-Ayn, al-Shaddadi and Hasaka area, according to al-Mardoud.

134,000 food packages were distributed by the SARC branch to beneficiaries in areas across Hasaka in 2015.
